What can I expect?
An initial meeting to see if counselling, and/or coaching is right for you
We offer an initial meeting to understand what brings you to counselling now and to explore how counselling or coaching can best help and support you. It gives you the opportunity to ask any questions you might have and ensure you are happy working with the counsellor before committing to any further sessions.
Counselling provides you with a space for you to talk about feelings that worry or upset you, to make sense of how the past impacts on you now, to increase self awareness of patterns in relationships or behaviour, and to work on resolving or coming to terms with past or current conflicts and hurts.
Coaching focuses on agreeing realistic and achievable personal or career goals for the future and working together on how you can achieve them, including overcoming obstacles and self-limiting behaviours. An important part of the process is visualising how you will feel when you have achieved a goal. We offer coaching for improved self confidence, work performance and specifically for Public Speaking.
Weekly 50 minute Sessions, short or longer term to suit you
We meet at an agreed time weekly for 50 minutes in either the Carshalton Beeches or Sutton practice. The overall number of sessions is set by you and this can either be a few to work on a specific issue, or more where you feel you would benefit from longer term support.
An Affordable Cost
The charge for each session, including the initial session, is £50 on weekdays and £55 on weekends. Payment can be by cash, cheque or bank transfer.
*Questions to ask when choosing a Counsellor
The following are questions which the BACP recommend you ask to help you choose the right counsellor for you, all of which can be discussed at your first meeting with one of our counsellors:
•How many sessions will I have?
•What type of counselling do you offer?
•How much will it cost?
•What happens if I miss a session or want to take a holiday?
•Can I contact my counsellor in between sessions?
•Will the counselling be confidential?
Still unsure whether to go ahead?
